It’s halter bralette season! Teens are going on summer break. Summer break means vacations to the beach, parties, and summer camp. Teen hatler and crop bralettes are perfect for summer tops, sundresses, and open-back shirts.

With all the options available, teens need guidance on how to measure their band size and cup size. There is a simple method to calculate your bra size:
Bust Size - Band Size = Cup Size
To find your band size, you need to measure your underbust aka the rib cage. With a measuring tape or a string, you can measure with a ruler, place it around your rib cage parallel to the floor, and ensure that it is snug like a hug. The band needs to be snug to provide the support in the bra as that is where the support should be in a bra–the band, and NOT the shoulder straps. Round to the nearest whole even number.
To find your overbust measurement, the measuring tape (or string) needs to be also parallel to the floor and over the fullest part of your breasts. But this you do not have a snug, but slightly loose. Round to the nearest whole number.
Once you have your two sizes, subtract the two.
The difference between your band size and overbust measurement will equal your cup size. Each inch difference is a cup size. 1 inch = A-cup, 2 inches = B-cup, 3 inches = C-cup, 4 inches = D-cup, 5 inches = DD/E-cup, 6 inches = DDD/F-cup.
Two examples from the BRABAR Studio are with a teenager and a preteen, both of who came in with their respective mothers.
The teenager measured a band size of 26, a very petite rib cage measurement and difficult to find. Her overbust measurement was 32 inches. To get her bra size, we subtract the two numbers. It is a difference of 6 inches. Therefore, each inch is a cup size, so her cup was DDD/F-cup. Her Bra Size was 26DDD/F. Of course, with such a bra size, she was in great disbelief that it was accurate so I had to measure her again. Once again, it came out to the same bra size of 26DDD/F.
She picked out a Strappy Halter Bralette, an Everyday Bra, and a Soft Crop Multiway Convertible Bralette.
The preteen measured a band of 28, another petite rib cage measurement. Her overbust measurement was 32 inches. We subtract the band size and the overbust measurement to get a difference of 4 inches. Since each inch is a cup size, her cup size was a D-cup. Therefore, her Bra Size was 28D.
She picked out an Open-Back Halter, an Everyday Longline Cami, and an Everyday Bra.
As you can see from both examples, they each got a halter for each of their needs, but also everyday options and the teenager got the Soft Crop Multiway Convertible Bralette to have more options with the straps. All in all for the petite rib cage but a full-busted teenager and preteen, BRABAR has a halter bralette, crop bra top, and everyday options for summer break.
