Tales From the BRABAR Studio: Best Preteen and Teen Bralettes for AA-C Cups

Teens, and preteens or tweens with small cups (AA-C) often look for the best bralettes and best bralette sports bras.  The wireless experience is far more comfortable for everyday use and for the gym.

Two separate cases from three different demographic age groups give a great example of the choices for teen bralettes, comfortable bralettes, and bralettes sports bras.  As always, it was important to measure to ensure the correct bra fit first.

Here are the measurements of the teenager and the preteen:

The teenage girl came in with her mother and looked for teen bralettes for everyday and gym classes.  She measured a 28-inch rib cage measurement. Therefore, she had a 28-bra band size.  Her overbust measurement was a 28.5-inch bust size.  How to find the correct band and how to measure bust sizes is as follows:  you subtract your bra band size from your bust size.  The difference between her two measurements was a less than 1-inch difference.  Each inch is a cup size, so less than 1 inch is an AA-cup, 1 inch is an A-cup, 2-inch is a B-cup, 3-inch is a C-cup, 4-inch is a D-Cup, 5-inch is a DD-cup/E-cup, and 6-inch is a DDD-cup/F-cup.  Since a less than one-inch difference is an AA cup, the teen girl was a 28AA bra size.  

The preteen girl came in with her mother and looked for bras for gym class.  She measured a 29-inch rib cage measurement. Therefore, she had a 30-bra band size.  Her overbust measurement was a 32-inch bust size.  How to find the correct band and how to measure bust sizes is as follows:  you subtract your bra band size from your bust size.  The difference between her two measurements was a 2-inch difference.  Each inch is a cup size, so 1 inch is an A-cup, 2-inch is a B-cup, 3-inch is a C-cup, 4-inch is a D-Cup, 5-inch is a DD-cup/E-cup, and 6-inch is a DDD-cup/F-cup.  Since a 2-inch difference is a B-cup, the preteen girl was a 30B bra size.

The preteen with the Bra Size 30B picked out the Soft Cami and Soft V Crop Bralette.  Both Soft Cami and Soft V are breathable, comfortable options.  The Soft Cami is a great option for the gym for the small cup preteen.  It is also a great supportive teen bralette, just like the Soft Crop.

How to measure bra and cup sizes at home:

• Here's how to determine your bra size:

  1. Measure Underbust: Wrap a soft measuring tape around your body, right below your breasts. The number you read on the tape is your band size. Round to the nearest even whole number.

  2. Measure Over Bust: Using the same measuring tape, wrap it around your body over the fullest part of your breasts. The number you read on the tape is your bust size; round to the nearest whole number.

  3. Calculate Cup Size: Subtract your band size from your bust size. This number represents your cup size or the volume of your breast tissue. Your cup size in inches is represented by an alphabet (sizes AAA to DDD/F). For example, 1 inch = A cup, 2 inches = B cup, 3 inches = C cup, and so on.

  Your bra size is determined by combining your band size with your cup size alphabet. Subtract your band size from your bust size to ascertain your cup size in inches. This combination yields your ultimate bra size, encompassing both band size and cup size.
