Here are the Top Five tween favorite bras and bralettes to start your search for your tween’s next bra.
Does your tween want an everyday bra without the wire and perfect for t-shirts? Look no further than the Everyday Bra with Back Closure and the Soft Day Bra with Back Closure ! They both are bras with removable pads and a three-hook back closure. I would recommend both, though the main difference is that the Soft Day Bra with Back Closure has a higher wing on the side and more coverage. So depending on your comfort and what you want, either or both would fit in your wardrobe.
Does your tween want a super comfortable bra for at home and on the go? The Soft V Crop Bra is a fantastic choice. With thicker shoulder straps, breathable, and lightweight, the Soft V Crop Bra is doubled-lined with no padding for ultimate comfort.
Does your tween not want a bra that looks like a traditional bra with a back closure or something with thick straps? Then the Soft Cami Bra Top and the Soft Crop Bralette /Soft Multiway Convertible Bra would fit all the needs.
The Soft Cami Bra Top is a fan-favorite from our Soft Bra Collection with adjustable straps and the longline cami style. The Soft Crop Bralette /Soft Multiway Convertible Bra is a great addition to any wardrobe. With the convertible adjustable straps, you can make a halter bra , a criss-cross back, a one-shoulder bra, or a two-shoulder bra! Unlined and also from our Soft Bra Collection , the Soft Crop Bralette /Soft Multiway Convertible Bra is supportive for both work and play.
The band should be snug like a hug to give you the proper support. Too loose or too tight and it is not the appropriate fit.
The straps shouldn't be digging into your shoulders, nor too loose. Remember your straps should not be supporting your breasts. It’s all in the Band!
You should not spill out of the sides of your bra, or the top. Your cups shouldn’t wrinkle and there should be no gapping of the cups.
This counts for well-worn bras you have at home. The ones you wear all the time. If it’s stretched out, or your body changed, then it’s time to get new bras.
How to Measure Yourself at Home:
You should get re-fitted for your Bra Size once a year, or if you are still a teen or tween, every six months.
YOUR OVERBUST MEASUREMENT - YOUR BAND SIZE = YOUR CUP SIZE
Step 1 - Band Size
Your Band Size is the key to finding your correct Bra Size . If your Band Size is off, so will your Cup Size , and then your bras won’t fit. And that’s what we want to try to avoid!
To measure your Band Size , take a measuring tape and measure your underbust or ribcage, keeping it parallel to the floor. Keep it snug to get the most accurate measurement because you want the band of your bra to fit you snugly in the way a good strapless bra does. The support comes from the band, not the straps. Round to the nearest even whole number to get your Band Size . Bands typically are 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, and 38.
Step 2 - Overbust Measurement
The second measurement you need is your overbust measurement . This measurement is taken over the fullest part of your bust with the measuring tape parallel to the floor as well. Here you need a tiny bit of slack, but not too much to get your overbust measurement . Round to the nearest whole number.
Step 3 - Cup Size
Take your Band Size and subtract it from your overbust measurement to get your Cup Size .
Each inch difference is one cup size.
Less Than a one-inch difference is an AA-Cup.
A one-inch (1) difference is an A-Cup.
A two-inch (2) difference is a B-Cup.
A three-inch (3) difference is a C-Cup.
A four-inch (4) difference is a D-Cup.
A five-inch (5) difference is a DD-Cup or an E-Cup.
A six-inch (6) difference is a DDD-Cup or a F-Cup.
A seven-inch (7) difference is a DDDD-Cup or a G-Cup.
The constant is whatever the difference between your band size and overbust measurement is!
Everyone’s cup size looks different because their determining measurements are the changing variables. A 30DD bra size is going to look different than a 38DD bra size . Someone's 36DD bra size is going to look very different than someone's 28DD bra size . They have the same difference between overbust and band size which in the case of a DD-Cup is five inches.
A 28DD bra size would have a 28 Band and 33-inch Overbust.
A 30DD bra size would have a 30 Band and a 35-inch Overbust.
A 32DD bra size would have a 32 Band and a 37-inch Overbust.
A 34DD bra size would have a 34 Band and a 39-inch Overbust
A 36DD bra size would have a 36 Band and a 41-inch Overbust.
A 38DD bra size would have a 38 Band and 43-inch Overbust.
Same Cup Size, but different Bands and Overbusts!
Even with A-Cups, it’s the same! So many women, teens, and tweens think they are an A-Cup when they just have a much smaller band size than they realize!
A 28A bra size would have a 28 Band and a 29-inch Overbust.
A 30A bra size would have a 30 Band and a 31-inch Overbust.
A 32A bra size would have a 32 Band and a 33-inch Overbust.
A 34A bra size would have a 34 Band and a 35-inch Overbust.
A 36A bra size would have a 36 Band and a 37-inch Overbust.
A 38A bra size would have a 38 Band and a 39-inch Overbust.
Plenty of times I have heard women, teens, and tweens tell me that they were a 36A bra size or a 38A bra size when they were not! Many had smaller bands and were rather a 32DD bra size ! It all depends on measuring their proper Band Size and Overbust Measurement ! So it is always good to get fitted if you are unsure!
