For the 28D, 28DD/E, & 28DDD/F Girlies!

This is for all the petite-ribcage, full-busted girls who have a hard time finding the right bra for their needs. It is hard to find the 28 Band Size , especially since most have not heard of such a band size! Even more so, when you have a 28 Band Size and you have a D-Cup, DD-Cup/E-Cup, or DDD-Cup/F-Cup with the petite band size, then it is more of a shock because everyone has an image of D+ Cups being bigger than they think. However, this is not the case. Everyone’s Cup Size looks different depending on your Band Size. More about that later in the article.

Finding your size is the first thing you need to do to find your size for your bra shopping experience.

How to Measure Your Bra Size with the EZ-Fit Method (AKA The Ribcage Method ):

1. Measure your ribcage/underbust to get your band size, round to the nearest even whole number.
2. Measure over the fullest part of your breasts to get your overbust measurement, and round to the nearest whole number.
3. Subtract your Band Size from your overbust measurement to get the difference for your cup size. Each inch difference corresponds to a cup size: A-Cup is a 1-inch difference, B-Cup is a 2-inch difference, C-Cup is a 3-inch difference, D-Cup is a 4-inch difference, DD-Cup/E-Cup is a 5-inch difference, DDD-Cup/F-Cup is a 6-inch difference and so on.

Why Does the Band Size Matter?

The Band Size is the key to a proper supportive, everyday bra. A perfect-fitting bra should fit like a proper strapless bra. The support comes from your band, not your straps. If your straps are too loose or too tight, then you need a new bra.

When considering bra sizes, it's important to think about both the Band Size and the Cup Size, as they are interrelated. The Band Size and Bust Size together determine the Cup Size, so it's important to keep both in mind while bra shopping. If your cups are gapping or if you’re spilling out on the sides or tops, then you need a new bra with a different size.

The two measurements are related. If your band size changes, your cup size will change. If your overbust measurement changes, but your band size does not, your cup size will still change. It is vital to get remeasured every six months to a year.

When in doubt, shop by the Band Size, not the Cup Size.
